an introduction
a note from the editor (The Dreamatist)
Welcome to this little beatnik corner. It was time for a poetry book to be opened and left open for the unexpected reader. As our dream walker has more mastery over the pen than the blog he’s put his words into my hands and I’m putting them back together online. I feel sorry for poems that become forgotten, sealed away in musty cupboards only to be rediscovered thirty years later, laughed or sighed at, and put aside. Where our words can trace out the immediacy of our wakeful asleeps and sleepful awakes they serve to remind us that our words run faster than we can ever imagine, capturing or repainting all things known by language, and circling round us in the living fire of sublime banality. For the realists among you for whom these notions appear dated Romantic curiosities…let me suggest that reality is a daydream by sleepwalkers who choose a more gritty, or perhaps more consistent, less fire-breathing version of dream. This site is about living prose and a person on whom one can almost always depend upon to be pulling on the skirts of dream wherever he goes, unraveling the apparent till she appears quite translucent and not very apparent at all. I give you my friend and favorite wandering wonderer…vikramjeet sinha
